Dear Hillary Clinton,
By now, me introducing myself every time may seem silly, but just in case this is the first letter you are seeing, I’ll do it anyway; like putting your name on every page of a college term paper just in case. It’s me, Gerard Mclean from Englewood, Ohio.
Today, I opened up the stack of medical bills that came because I made ONE visit to the doctor about six weeks back. It was nothing serious — thanks for asking — just routine stuff, so there are only six bills instead of the usual dozen for the serious stuff. One for blood work, another for the doctor’s practice, then the medical center, the xray operator, the doctor who read the xray and I’m not sure what the other bill is, who it is from and what they did but they want $168.19 for it. I’ll just pay it.
In total, I will shell out $1,187.29 for the one routine doctor visit. That is in addition to the monthly premium I pay to Anthem BC/BS of Ohio just for the ticket in to see my doctor. He doesn’t even serve free drinks.
This is an insane way to deliver medicine in a civilized society. I don’t know what those bills are for, but I know if I don’t pay them on time and in full, my FICO Score will be assaulted by some goomba with a bag of digital oranges.
We need Universal Care. Not tomorrow, not next term; now!
