Google to the Rescue

When those good ol’ day memories blur

Nearly two years have passed since we sat around a table with extended family. We catch up on the good ol’ days.

“Remember when we,” the chorus sings along with the clank of bottles and chatter of laughter fills the evening.

“What was that band we saw in the summer of ’89?”

“Def Leppard, wasn’t it?”

“No, it was Metallica!”

The pot stirs as blurred memories intertwine into the rabbit hole of endless possibilities. As they squabble over who is right, I pull out my phone. “No phones! We are on vacation!” I ignore the protests.

Google will settle the score. I flash them the answer, “See, it was Metallica!”

“That’s right!” they echo as if they knew all along.

“What year did we see Bon Jovi?!”

Ugh, I’m going to bed.
