Google Loses Its Spot as the World’s Most Popular Website
Google is now at No. 2 after 11+ years in the top spot.
Google is no longer the most popular website after holding the No.1 spot for over a decade.
The tech giant was pushed aside by the fastest-growing social media app, TikTok. According to Cloudfare, TikTok ranked No. 7 in 2020 and skyrocketed past Amazon, Netflix, Apple, Microsoft, Facebook, and Google to take the No. 1 spot in 2021.

ByteDance, TikTok’s China-based parent company, only launched TikTok outside mainland China in 2017. It now has over a billion active users and is the most downloaded app globally and in the U.S., according to Apptopia. (656 million global and 94 million U.S. downloads in 2021)

With the growing popularity of TikTok, we don’t expect it to come down from its top spot anytime soon.
