Key areas:
1. Illumination Spotlight Growth
2. Continuing Automation

1. Illumination Spotlight users are increasing
Illumination Spotlight is growing as word gets out to the ILLUMINATION writing community.

Illumination Spotlight’s trends remain rising.
- Sessions are up 18% to 258.
- Users are up 7% to 144.
- Pageviews are up 1% to 618.
April 12, 2020 was Easter Sunday, so traffic was lower as people were celebrating the holiday. The next Monday, traffic skyrocketed as seen in the graph above.
Our sitemap has 215 items to guide Google, Bing and Duck Duck Go to various pages to index.

Google has indexed 135 URLs in Illumination Spotlight, according to Google Webmaster Tools. There haven’t been any search impressions yet, according to the tool. That is to be expected since the site is brand new. Google likes to keep an eye on new websites to make sure they are valuable to their algorithm.
Google shows no issues to be fixed at this time. This is where they would indicate if they didn’t like something or if a page needed to be fixed and the reason.
A quick check of Google’s search engine shows over 500 entries for the search term “96c.co/i/.”

Two. Automation Overview
I have automated Illumination Spotlight to save some of my manual labor. I have let the system pick out the items I want in a post. The system creates a draft. I go in and manually review and publish the post.
I’ve stopped putting pictures on the posts to save server space and to have the pages run quickly. The idea is to have search engines find the links, index them, count up other incoming links, and use the search engine’s algorithm to give a particular rank to that particular ILLUMINATION story.
Our goal is to have at least one incoming link. Also, if Illumination Spotlight develops a ranking as a useful site for search engines, it will increase the weight sent back to the ILLUMINATION story.
Automation Upgrades
I am working on continuing automation. I plan to add a CAPTCHA system that should be able to operate in the background to monitor for spam. If I am able to insure we won’t be overrun by spam, I can automate the system even more. It would allow for more growth in the system since it is limited at this time to how many posts I can approve at any particular time.
The current automation allows me to approve posts via my cell phone. This speeds up processing posts because I don’t have to be at a desktop or laptop computer. This means I can be out and about (or in my bed early in the morning) and approve posts, then go back to whatever else I was doing.
If I can get an anti-spam system up and running, I might be able to have the system determine if the system should auto post.
I’m excited to implement some solutions and test them. This would allow greater participation since valid posts could be approved by the system.
I will update as this project progresses.
