Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and Thanks for the Memories Elton John
Your music has inspired generations and you’re still standing! Yeah, Yeah, Yeah . . .

Watching the Elton John Live Farewell Concert last night at Dodgers Stadium on Disney Plus, I was struck again by the magical power of music and words to change lives and help you through the joys and despairs of life.
The Rocket Man still has it going on at 75 years of age.
It takes me way back to 1975 when I was 22 and had the great good fortune to attend one of the first two Elton John concerts at Dodgers Stadium. My college roommate Barbara and I had somehow snagged tickets and we drove merrily down from Oxnard to Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles to see him perform.
It was the first big concert I’d ever been to and it did not disappoint :)
I had worn out my Yellow Brick Road album at home by playing it over and over. But Elton John in concert was next level.
He rocked it with his piano and voice and personality and his sparkling specs and outrageous costumes. It was a feast for all the senses. And it launched him into super stardom.
I’ve always loved Elton’s music because of his mad piano playing skills and his ability to touch your emotions and heal your pain.
The 2022 concert had lots more flashy special effects and fireworks but at the heart of it all is still Elton John and his magical mystical way with his music and his audience.

It’s hard to think of Elton walking down that yellow brick road to retirement, but he wants to spend more time with his husband and their boys and that’s one of the best reasons for anyone to retire.
Key Message: Thanks again for reminding us — “How wonderful life is while you’re in the world.” — Your Song, music by Elton John, lyrics by Bernie Taupin
Thanks for all your music Elton John. Much Love, Linda
