Goodbye, My Love
A poem on grieving the loss of a partner

The shadow of my hallowed pain. Conceals darkness of our hidden shame. There is no one here left for me to blame.
I witnessed you tame my soul’s inner rage. Together we endured life’s forgiving cage.
A life of wills you wasted grace. For sorrow’s shadow past our embrace. Another heartache, a new phase.
Witness love resurrected, yet. Apart I wept until our souls met.
In death, you parted till another day. I will find you again on clouds of grey. Then we will fall asleep to come what may.
