Good points. On the first one, perhaps I should have clarified it more. I view the Adam and Eve story as an evolutionary one. I think god planted the tree because he wanted them to eat it, so they could individuate in order to grow and be the persons they were meant to be. I see the story as a step up for humanity, as did Jung by the way.

I then said, "This refers to the incarnation of Jesus." though John doesn't specifically say Jesus.
So the incarnation of the son is Jesus. Of course in the broader context I want to say we are all sons and daughters of God, but in the strict interpretation of Christianity, only Jesus is as you know.
