Going Down?

One of the ladies who read my 100-word micro-fiction, “Going Feverishly Up and Down,” Gabriela Rosales asked, “So…where’s part 2? You are not going to leave us like this, are you?” At the time, I just kind of laughed it off, then started wondering… Is there a followup? So without further ado… my 100-word followup.

As I went down on the elevator that night, I found myself alone with that same girl. I recalled her looking into my eyes earlier as if she wanted to ask me something.

I thought about we’re “going down” together, and wondered how it would feel…

I thought of ways to innocently ask her out for coffee. How could I ask without sounding like a cheap pickup? Suddenly, the door pinged, and the voice announced my floor. Shit, I couldn’t come up with anything. So, I went out.

But she called after me, “Wait a second! You forgot your briefcase.”
