Goddess of Darkness VS Grimalkin

An edition of It’s Luci, Not Lucifer

Luci finished getting dressed as she took a moment to admire herself in the mirror. She struck several poses which complimented her curves. While she put on her own private show the radio stopped playing music.

“Good morning everyone. This is your morning traffic report. There is a house fire on Glenmore road this morning. First responders are currently on scene so that area is shut down. You’ll want to detour down-” the radio DJ announced.

Luci stopped listening as her eyes went wide. Her hands began to slowly tremble as her phone fell to the floor. “No… It’s him,” she trembled.

She dashed across the room and threw open the closet door. In hurried motions, she tossed several objects out without a care for where they landed. Once her eyes landed on the handle she desperately searched for she snatched it up. She scooped her phone back up and sent off a quick text as she ran out the front door.

Luci held the handle of the box with both hands as she nervously looked up at the road sign for Glenmore. She took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. “It’ll be fine. It’s all going to be fine.”

The red and blue lights flashed across her face as she strode towards the burning house. Stripped of her confidence she tried to slip past the police line only to be stopped by an officer.

“Ma’am you can’t pass through here,” he said with a raised hand.

“No, it’s fine,” Luci said solemnly as she snapped her fingers, “I’ll just be a moment.”

The officer stared Luci down for several moments as if he was entangled in some sort of internal fight. She thought that perhaps it wasn’t going to work this time.

“Be quick about it,” the officer finally declared as he stepped aside.

“Thank you…” she muttered as she hurried towards the back door of the house.

Luci stood inside the kitchen as thick smoke rolled across the ceiling. She coughed into her hand as she nervously looked about. “Hello? Are you in here?”

She pushed further into the house. The heat intensified as she entered the living room. She raised a hand in a feeble attempt to block the fire’s wrath from her face as a black cat sat on its haunches and stared her down.

“Hello, Jessica,” the cat said in a deep scratchy voice, “Or should I say, Luci? That is what you’re going by these days, right?”

“Oh, it’s you! I’m glad you’re okay,” Luci said as in a fake cheerful tone as her knees threatened to buckle from under her.

The cat raised a paw for her to stop, “Enough with your insolence. If not for my condition I would have slit your throat already.”

“I get it. You’re a little mad because of our disagreement-”

“Disagreement?!” the cat roared in anger as the flames within the house leaped to new heights. “You trapped me in the body of a feline!

“Lucifer please…” Luci begged as she held out the cat carrier.

“I’ll let the entire world burn down before I fall to your tricks again.”

She tried to muster up as courage as possible and snapped her fingers. Dark shadowy tendrils shot from her feet and stabbed into the flames. The coals and embers turned black as they subsided slightly.

Lucifer smirked, “You’re getting weaker Luci.” He stood up and hissed as tendrils of his own shot out and attacked Luci’s. Fiery red flames broke through the veil of darkness and threatened to engulf the room.

The duo fought with each other and struggled for dominance as a blond-haired man entered from the kitchen. He held a cloth to his mouth with one hand and a phone in the other as he tucked his white feathery wings in as closely as possible.

“Luci?” the angel muttered in shock as he took in the scene before him.

“Gabriel help!” Luci pleaded as desperation was painted thick across her face.
