GLOW Festival Eindhoven 2023

The annual festival of lights and digital art in the streets of Eindhoven during November and I had the opportunity to see it in person this year.
Since I have been in Ghent for half a year, I had a short drive to the Netherlands and thought it would be a shame to miss this festival.
I found out about this event by accident through a post on Instagram from an account I follow, but I was immediately intrigued. After reading some information about the event, we thought it would be a bit of a problem to park, but these fears were false.

The organizers have prepared for the public a 5-kilometer circuit with 24 points on which a certain light installation is shown. It is a circuit around the city center of Eindhoven.
You start at the train station, where the heart of the festival is, given a touch by the building flashing to the beat of the heart, and then embark on your journey through the light show.

You really can’t get lost, you just have to follow other people. Plus there were signs everywhere pointing the way and there was also a website where you could see all the points and your position
There were a lot of people, but it was a problem to pass only in some places, otherwise, the streets are really wide in the city center. It is true that the biggest challenge was the light staging inside the buildings. But where to rush to?

There is absolutely nothing missing around the road, you will find toilets, food, drink various treats, and so on.

For me, the biggest highlight is passing through the cathedral at the end of the trail. The inside of the church is illuminated with floral patterns and moving figures.

This festival showed me another way to experience a new place in a fun and different way than what I’m used to. Some of the creations were really unique unique to unbelievable. On the other hand, some were not as well thought out, but that’s always the case.
However, this is a festival that is free and from that point of view, the city of Eindhoven does a great job in what they offer visitors. If you’re in the area, I definitely wouldn’t miss this event.
See you soon Eindhoven
