Global Warming Is Going to Destroy Your Children’s Life
The glaciers are melting but you don’t care, do you?

The weather has become unpredictable in my country.
We had six seasons — if you wonder. And they were in great harmony back in my childhood years. I enjoyed the summer most as the days were warm, shiny, and long enough to play outdoors. But I loved the other ones as well — the rain, autumn, late autumn, winter, and spring.
Now I am a grown-up man of thirty-two. If you ask me how many seasons we have now, I will say — it’s just one unpredictable season with untimely rain, scorching heat, sudden cold, and all. And, of course, there is no reason to like it.
I reckon many of you have been experiencing quite similar for the last few decades. If it is summer — it’s unbearable heat, and if it’s winter — your bones are shivering with cold. The weather has become so unpredictable that things hardly go in accordance with the weather report.
Due to the rise of global warming, the climate has been changed alarmingly. And it’s no good sign for any living beings, including you, your children, and the generations to come.
Global warming is a reality
If you want to acknowledge it or not — the planet’s temperature is escalating rapidly. Over the past few decades, we have seen sea-level rising, terrible wildfire destroying forests, glaciers melting, and so on.
We are now witnessing an imbalance in our ecosystems, resulting in numerous terrible events like — increased fire threats, water shortage, drought, coastal erosion, coral bleaching, etc.
All of these are happening because of the emission of greenhouse gases. And it’s an alarming fact that their levels are now higher than at any time in the last 800,000 years.
As you know thee Greenhouse gases (water vapor, CO2, CFC, Ozone, etc.)trap heat as the sunlight passes through the atmosphere but prevents it from leaving. The more greenhouse gases concentrate in the atmosphere, the more heat gets locked up.
Though without them, our planet would be too cold, the excess of them causes significant temperature rise. Consequently, the glacial ice melts down that ultimately changes everything.
Glaciers are melting as we are destroying ourselves
Glaciers are the protective layer of ice over our beautiful planet that reflects excess heat into space and keeps it cool, therefore, livable. Most of the world’s glacial ice is found in Antarctica and Greenland, but you will find them in nearly every continent to some extent.
Today, about 10% of the land area on earth is covered with glacial ice. And they provide numerous information to the scientists, including a record of how climate has changed over time.
The alarming fact is — since the early 1900s, glaciers have been rapidly melting and contributing to raising the sea levels.
As you know, when the temperature rises, ice is bound to melt. But who is behind all this? Who is causing this terrible destructive event? I hope you already know the answer.
Yes, we, the selfish being, are the root of all evil. Disasters, pandemics, catastrophes — all are the fruits of our own actions.
Since the industrial revolution, we have been distancing our relationship with nature by inventing fancy tools to live differently. And our fancy appliances, vehicles, and the industries where we made them are emitting too much carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases like CFC, methane, ozone, and nitrous oxide. The result is global warming.
The balance is being destroyed continuously, and then we are pretending that nothing wrong has been done. But wait! Our wrongdoings have been speaking for themselves lately.
People are experiencing excessive heat in different places across the world. The winter is also becoming unbearable, and the disaster one after another is destroying our life.
But, do we really care? The study says that we don’t.

An article, published in World Weather Attribution, cites that in the first six months of 2020, Siberia experienced a period of unusually high temperatures, including a record-breaking 38 degrees C in the town of Verkhoyansk on 20 June, causing wide-scale impacts including wildfires, loss of permafrost, and an invasion of pests.
Siberia! Which is best known for its bone-wrenching harsh winter is now experiencing unbearable heat. Who could ever imagine that?
Scientists also warn that by 2050 the Siberian region could expect to have temperatures increase by at least 2.5 degrees compared to 1900, but this increase could be as high as 7 degrees.
Global warming is ready to destroy everything — agriculture, productivity, business, infrastructure, everything. The very economy which we are all concerned about will face a tremendous shock.
In Australia, the cumulative damages to agricultural and labor productivity from climate change are expected to reach $4.2 trillion by 2100, says a study by the Climate Council of Australia.
We, the self-proclaimed intelligent species of all, cruelly destroying our only liveable land.
United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) mentions, — Human activities are responsible for almost all of the increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere over the last 150 years. The largest source of greenhouse gas emissions from human activities in the United States is from burning fossil fuels for electricity, heat, and transportation.
We eat up everything in nature that stands in our way and then dream to transport ourselves to Mars to destroy another. No doubt, we are ruining our own game.

There is no future for your children
Experts say that even if we significantly curb emissions in the coming decades, more than a third of the world’s remaining glaciers will melt before the year 2100. And if you consider sea ice, 95% of the oldest and thickest ice in the Arctic is already gone.
They also project that if the emission goes unchecked, the Arctic could be ice-free by the year 2040 as ocean and air temperatures continue to escalate rapidly.
If that happens, all your dreams and your children’s future will go inundated. There will be no future for the next generation and the generations to come.
World Economic Forum cites in an article published on January 21, 2021, that rising sea levels could result in cities like Miami, New York City, and New Orleans ending up underwater by the end of the century.
Now, see — the future for your children is very bleak. If fortunate, you may escape a harsh intolerable world, but what about your children? Your children’s children?
Undoubtedly, they will be cursing you throughout their life as your insensibility and selfishness are the sole reason for their misfortune and sufferings.
To Conclude
No superheroes will come to save you from your wrongdoings. You must fix the problem you created. And for that reason — first, admit that you did some terrible injustice to the world around you. Then, moderate your lifestyle to minimize the emission of greenhouse gases.
You can start using energy-efficient appliances, reducing water waste, driving fuel-efficient vehicles, and so on. Above all, you need to talk about it more to raise massive awareness.
You need to understand that though the glaciers are miles away from you, it may ruin your and your children’s lives in no time if you choose to remain indifferent.
Remember, today you may see the polar bear suffering on the television screen, but tomorrow the bear can be replaced by your children.
So, be more sensible and take action to keep the planet cool and liveable.
