Summary

The website content discusses the impact of Freon gases on the ozone layer, contributing to global warming, and suggests alternative cooling methods to mitigate the damage.

Abstract

The article titled "Global Warming a Research" delves into the detrimental effects of global warming, attributing a significant portion of the blame to the use of Freon gases in air conditioning and refrigeration systems. These gases, when leaked, ascend to the stratosphere and deplete the ozone layer, leading to increased heat waves, altered weather patterns, excessive rainfall, and consequent floods. The study emphasizes that the United States, responsible for 60% of air pollution, must take immediate action to ban or restrict Freon gas usage and develop alternative coolants. The article also highlights a Canadian proposal to use chilled water from Niagara Lake for cooling as a practical solution to reduce reliance on harmful gases. The conclusion asserts that ceasing the use of Freon gas will allow the ozone layer to repair itself, normalizing weather conditions and rainfall patterns.

Opinions

  • The article conveys a strong opinion that the use of Freon gases in A.C.s and refrigerators is the primary cause of the hole in the ozone layer.
  • It suggests that the United States has a significant responsibility to address air pollution and should lead the way in finding alternatives to Freon gases.
  • The author believes that the idea of using chilled water from Niagara Lake for cooling purposes is a viable and environmentally friendly alternative.
  • The text implies that immediate action is required to stop or reduce global warming, with a focus on curtailing the use of Freon gases.
  • There is an opinion that if the use of Freon gas is discontinued, the ozone layer can regenerate, leading to a return of normal weather and rainfall conditions.

Global Warming a Research

A study about global warming, its effects and what can be done

Nature has stretched an umbrella over the earth in the form of ozone layer which prevents the sunrays from reaching the earth surface beyond a safe limit necessary for living beings and to regulate the weather conditions.

The excessive rainfall in the world and as a result the havoc of floods, change in weather conditions towards warmth, lead the scientists to probe the reasons behind. It has now been established that ever increasing use of Freon Gases used in Air Conditioning plants and Refrigerators all over the world has punctured the natural protection layer of ozone which in fact acts like a protection layer over the earth. The hole created in the ozone layer has extended up to the size of North America. The Freon Gases are mainly responsible for the damage occurring in the protecting layer.

When a gas is charged into an A.C or Fridge, it partially leaks and goes up. Also when their lines get worn out the filling gas rushes out and go up high in the air. We now have billions of A.C’s and Refrigerators in the world, the process of charging and leakages is also in progress. There is a continuous flow of Freon Gases towards the ozone layer penetrating and damaging it.

Observation

As the hole in the ozone layer is increasing more heat waves will pass through it to reach the earth. It will increase the heat and hence the temperature. The rise in temperature over sea water increases the rate of evaporation and as a consequence the formation of clouds takes place more rapidly. Hence there will be more rainfall and floods in countries, destroying the infrastructure, sweeping away the countryside, the farms, and the orchards resulting in all kinds of destruction on the earth.

Applications

Research has shown that it is the U.S alone, who’s 60% responsible for polluting the air. Scientists must discover an alternative coolant for use in A.Cs and Fridges. The United States must impose a ban on its use or restrict its use until an alternative is discovered and made available.

Conclusion

Global warming is an alarming situation. Now when the reason is known its use must be restricted or banned. The researchers must find out an alternative; as the Canadians have floated the idea to circulate the chilled water from the Niagara Lake in the air conditioners for cooling the factories, halls, houses, cinemas, hospitals, schools etc. it’s a good and practicable solution. Others may also come forward with feasible solutions and start practicing it.

If the use of Freon Gas is stopped, the layer will patch up again and the weather conditions and rainfall will become normal as before. Global warming can be stopped or reduced to normal considerably depending on the use of Freon Gases. We should not use it in the appliances anymore or curtail its use to the maximum extent.
