Give Of Yourself

because there’s only one of you and for many recipients, this is enough

How may I serve? Dr. Wayne Dyer said that merely saying these four words just before falling asleep at night, or whenever you go to bed, and immediately upon awakening in the morning leads to answers and inner peace.

What do the Bible and Quran say about serving and giving of yourself?

Luke 6: 30

New King James Version — Give to everyone who asks of you. And from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back.

Matthew 16: 24–27

24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

27 For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and then he shall reward every man according to his works.

(surah al-’imran 3:92)

“By no means shall ye attain righteousness unless ye give (freely) of that which ye love; and whatever ye give, of a truth God Knowth it well”

“But the needy that I know of need food, shelter, safety, and warm clothing. What ‘of myself’ could I possibly have that they need?”

I am very glad that you asked. They need your ears to hear their desires. They need your shoulder to cry on occasionally when things seem to overwhelm them.

They need your heart to listen to their excuses for jokes and laugh with them, not at them. They need your compassion to help them up when they are falling deeper into the pit of misery and despair.

They need your love when they have been judged by their outer appearance, not their own heart. They need your understanding when they have no clue why they are in the position that they are.

This is only the beginning but if you do get involved, you can and will continue adding to this list, not by reading it somewhere but by actually doing it.

Soon you will see some sparks of life, trust, and hope that have been missing for so long. The beauty of it all is that you will grow right along with them.

This is how you are an active portion of The Law of Attraction. If you give of yourself, your returns and rewards are far beyond words.

Thank you, God!
