“If you want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it.” ~ Mother Teresa

Writing about light makes me feel happy. I think about light as the sunshine that wakes me in the morning. I’m not usually an early riser, but when I see the sun, I want to jump out of bed and start my day with more energy than usual.

For me, the sun is like a big battery that charges me up. I look at it with thanks and feel more hopeful and peaceful.

Light is a big part of our lives. It helps us see things better and makes the world look so much brighter.

Think about coming home on a dark winter night. It’s so warming to see the lights on and the fire burning. The light says, “Welcome home!”

I live in a rural place where it’s often cold, so I really appreciate the longer days with more daylight. When the sun comes out, it’s like a gift.

Where I dwell, there aren’t any city lights to block out the stars at night. When the moon is full, it’s truly magical. I gaze up at it with awe and wonder, staring for ages until I get too cold and have to come back indoors.

Why are we so drawn to light? It’s because we need it, just like any other living thing in nature. Light helps us grow and be like light ourselves, lighter in spirit, light of heart, and shedding anything that makes us feel heavy.

The lamps are different, but the Light is the same. One matter, one energy, one Light, one Light-mind, endlessly emanating all things.” ~ Rumi
