Gifts from Strangers
Small acts of kindness
Every writer knows the greatest gift any reader can give is to offer feedback on the work.
Claps are Ok, underlining is better, and the real gift comes in the form of comments. That is where the connection is made.
Many of us have hundreds of people we follow. This type of volume makes commenting on each article an impossibility. So we have to make a choice. Do we read (skim) as many as we can — clapping some, or do we read a few deeply commenting on every one?
For me, I choose the latter approach. Here I can offer more sincere gifts of kindness. And in return, I treat each comment as a true gift, knowing I touched a heart.
This piece is in response to the February writing prompt here at Spread the Ripple.
“Gifts”
Just like the story I opened with, gifts can bring connection and joy. Have you received a gift or given a gift to a stranger?
