Ghost Hollow Road at 2 am…

Last night, I looked up at a sky So heavy with stars That the black net of night Was bulging, Overflowing with its glittering haul. Tonight, there is only The sea — tree — stone — smell Of my sleeping street, The quiet sound of my tired feet — And a moon so full and bright That I cannot resist asking: Why do I crave love And seek it so desperately? Is it because I believe love Is the only cure for my loneliness, My shame, and my sorrow? I’m sorry, glowed the moon, But some feelings sink so deep Into your heart, that only loneliness can help you find them; Some truths about yourself are so painful that only shame Can help you live with them: And some things are just so sad, That only your soul Can do the crying for you.
