Get Vaccinated Please!

Vaccinations offer us a path to a new normal

This week, New York State announced that vaccinations for all individuals over the age of 16 could be scheduled starting April 6th.

This is great news for so many who have been ready and willing to be vaccinated.

Now we need to make the push to get as many people as possible vaccinated.

Although not through this pandemic quite yet, we can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

We all need to participate in the effort to get our community vaccinated.

As we do so, we can relax the restrictions in our workplaces and in the community to conform to the new normal. We can begin to move more freely without the fear of infection.

Once vaccinated, we can start to have the events we have postponed to get through this crisis. This will come as a welcomed relief to the past year.

At MACNY- The Manufacturers Association, we have assisted many companies in their efforts to remain safe and open. Our Keeping People Safe and Factories Running initiative has successfully offered insights and facilitated collaboration between companies so they could find the answers to their most complex questions.

Their on-going work will still be necessary as we continue to transition. So many valuable lessons have been learned that will be needed now and into the future.

MACNY’s routine updates will also continue to keep you up to date on which restrictions remain in place and which are being modified. Much work has been done, and more will be required.

As we make the transition, it’s time to evaluate what steps you will take.

Transitional periods are essential times for assessing how we invest our time and effort.

At work, what steps will be needed to thrive in the new normal? How will your home life change as we come out of the pandemic? Who will need our help to recover from the devastating impacts of the last year? How can I offer my talents in a way that makes this transition a steppingstone toward a brighter future?

A rapidly expanding number of vaccinated individuals will offer us the greatest chance of moving beyond the pandemic.

We will all need to do our part to make this a reality. We must remain committed to helping others in this process. Offer to help others make needed transitions. Must travel together through this crisis.

Now, more than ever, we need to ensure community-wide vaccination is promoted and achieved while we rebuild our economy.

I know we can do it together.
