How to contact Amazon’s customer service and get the help you need

Have you ever needed to contact customer service with your Amazon order, but weren’t sure where to go? Here are 6 ways to get in touch with Amazon Customer Service.
You can take advantage of Amazon’s online help feature, which gives you direct access to an Amazon representative who can help you right away! Here’s how it works: Open up the webpage of your product and scroll down until you see the Help section on the right-hand side of the page.
Contact Customer Service via Phone
You can call 888–280–3321 for assistance. The best way to find a human is by searching online for Amazon Call Center, or by calling other numbers found in user reviews. If all else fails, try dialing 800–463–3392 — this number goes straight to an operator 24 hours a day, seven days a week. When you call, have your tracking number ready (you can find it on your account page). If Amazon sent an email that confirmed delivery of an item but you never received it, be sure to mention that in case they ask why they haven’t heard from you sooner.
Keep Track of Your Order
When you’ve placed an order on Amazon, there are some ways to keep track of it while it’s being shipped: tracking numbers, email notifications from Amazon, and even follow-up emails from sellers that may be shipping your items for them. However, many users forget about these services until it’s too late — when their item is already late or when they don’t receive their order at all. Be sure to keep tabs on your orders by signing up for as many alerts as possible, including emails from both Amazon itself as well as sellers that may be shipping products for them.
Check Your Email
If you purchased from a marketplace seller on Amazon, first check their email inbox for an explanation of why your order was canceled. If they have no explanation, try contacting them through Amazon’s website directly. Select Your Account under Shop by Department, then click Help and Contact Us (under Contact Us), then select Send E-mail from Your Account. From there, navigate to the third-party seller in question.
Visit An Amazon Retail Store
If an item arrives damaged or is misrepresented, it’s best to handle these problems immediately by contacting a store manager in person. As long as it’s done within seven days of delivery, you can return products that were shipped directly from Amazon via an in-store return or exchange (for a full refund) or replacement (for free). Note: You can only return or exchange items sold directly by Amazon. Items sold by third-party sellers cannot be returned at these locations. Some products purchased on other websites through links on amazon may also be eligible for returns/replacements depending on what was purchased, so be sure to read product descriptions carefully!
Update Account Information (Credit Card, Address, etc.)
If you find yourself having problems placing an order, it could be because of incorrect account information on file. In some cases, that might mean updating your credit card information (or using a different one altogether). Other times, however, there may be a billing issue or address problem preventing your order from going through properly. To update any missing or outdated account information, click on My Account then Manage Payment Options (or something similar). This will bring up an area where you can update any out-of-date payment info or add a new method of payment to your account (like PayPal). If all else fails, call Amazon at 1–888–280–4331; but remember: patience is key if it’s the peak season for deliveries.
Request A Refund
If you’ve already contacted customer service, there’s a good chance that they’ll be able to refund or replace your item immediately. However, if not, it might be a good idea to create an account on Seller Central where you can file an A-to-z Guarantee Claim for damaged or late products (click here for instructions). This is an automated process that could speed up getting a replacement shipped out as well as receiving a refund from Amazon (you’re only eligible for one of each per calendar year). As always, make sure you have proof of purchase just in case.
