Geography of Longing
A dream-inspired poem
One word, geography, was all he could muster to express the landscape of love mapped across her face.
A nation of promise for the price of a kiss, a culture of care his caress.
Teeming with music and art, with books handed down through the ages, he gave her five sheaves, promised never to leave and wrapped her in tear-tainted pages.
