Gentleness Ambassadors August 2021 Prompt — Play
How do you play?

Hello beautiful people. Welcome to the August prompt for Gentleness Ambassadors.
This month’s prompt came to me when I was thinking about what new things I am trying to integrate more into my life. One of these things is… Play.
How do you play?
For us adults, it can be a heavily judged and misunderstood concept, yet play is an essential part of life.
I like being playful, making silly jokes, asking weird questions, immersing myself in fun activities, creating from my heart and soul. Time changes when I’m playing and in the flow, completely immersed and engaged in play.
Play is important to nurture our spirits and to bring more joy into our lives.
“This is the real secret of life — to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play.” ― Alan Watts
Gentleness can assist us in being playful, and in connecting to the childlike wonder of exploration and adventure. Because being gentle with ourselves can allow us to put aside outdated beliefs, let go of judgments and free ourselves from rigid controlling patterns.
There is no right and wrong when it comes to playing. There is no end or fixed goal, simply a desire to become immersed completely within the moment, connecting back to the free spirit within ourselves.
Play says we can get lost in our imaginations, thoughts, ideas. We can create with no rules and rigidity, we can be free to express ourselves in any way we please.
Play is a universal gift we can integrate more into our lives to develop ourselves too. It can also be a powerful part of our healing journey.
It is uplifting, inspiring, and transformational.
Bingz Huang always inspires me with her dancing, and her heartfelt expressions through dance are a beautiful example of play.
Play and work don’t have to be disconnected. Especially as creativity and play go hand in hand. Play may be considered silly or unimportant by many, but I believe it is one of the most important parts of living life to the fullest.
Play is a vital part of being authentic to ourselves too.
So go ahead, play :)! And don’t let anything stop you from expressing what feels right. Have fun with this month’s prompt :)!
