Genesis: A Dead Poets Live Prompt
My Creation

In the beginning Hope reigned Ubiquitous was the life Offered by My mother’s love And my father’s joy
Born the eldest of many And creator of some I sucked and absorbed Life’s mystery and quirks Possessions I had none
Blinded by the brightness And startled by the sounds I cried out to the gods above Who, sending the spirits of time To elevate me with lullabies Gifted me with love
Cradled by the moon And protected from the sun My blood pulsated Through venous valves To nourish my heart And aerate my newborn lungs I was doused with the water of life By the players of souls and human strife And christened Ihuoma, The favoured and blessed one And crying, I knew My journey had only just begun
Thank you once again, David S., for your intriguing prompt, Genesis.
