Geeky The Cat’s Travel Log: Molluscapia
A cat’s deep-sea journey to save the water filtration bots
We all need some help sometimes, even if it comes from another planet.

About the Geeky the Cat
Geeky, also known as Geeky The Cat, is a cat with exceptional intelligence who works as an aide to the Alliance Galaxy’s Supreme Office of Agriculture. His primary responsibility is to assist his master in overseeing the vast agricultural matters of the galaxy.
Aside from his professional obligations, Geeky is an avid traveler, taking advantage of any opportunity to visit different planets and cities that his hectic schedule allows.
A cat’s deep-sea adventure
Ah, hello there! I’m Geeky, the super-intelligent British Shorthair, and I’ve just returned from another exciting adventure across the universe.
My most recent business trip took me to Molluscapia. It’s a planet entirely covered by the sea, and when I say entirely, I mean it. No litter box in sight!
The Molluscapian City, in the deep sea, is a bustling metropolis that makes New York City look like a quaint village. The locals, the Molluscapians, are the advanced lifeforms here. They’re like the deep-sea cousins of your goldfish, only way smarter.
They’ve turned the deep sea into their own Silicon Valley, churning out synthetic deep-water organic robots. It’s quite the sight to behold, I must say.
They make all sorts of organic robots, and their top seller is the Synthetic Water Filtration Bots (SWFBs). These critters are vital for interstellar aquaculture systems to keep the water clean and the bioorganic materials stable.
The SWFBs are an odd bunch. They’re a mix of machine and Molluscapian lower lifeforms, sort of like Cyborgs. But unlike the Cyborgs, they’re not too bright.
Picture robotic animals that function on instinct and occasionally need an oil change. They are like Roomba, but for the water. And instead of sucking up dust bunnies, it’s dealing with… well, let’s not get into that.
The city is also famous for its “Molluscapian poulpe petit,” the small, colorful squid/octopus-like creatures that are a local delicacy.
I saw some of them swimming happily through the window of my underwater space pod. It's quite mesmerizing and more entertaining than watching the aquarium at home.
I was served bowls of cooked Molluscapian poulpe petit by the spacecraft crew, but I didn’t like it. I still prefer my tuna in a can.
The city is filled with synthetic bots. Even the hotel staff are bots, but unlike the SWFBs, these ones are smart. They can communicate in hundreds of common galactic languages, including the obscure dialect of Cat-speak that I’ve been trying to popularize.
The Molluscapians treated me to a musical and dance show that was, in a word, unique. It was a spectacle of singing and dancing, a colorful fiesta that left me purring in delight. The Opera singer had a voice like a cat in heat, but somehow, it was oddly pleasing.
Recovery in progress
I visited their SWFB plant. The bots had been infected by an unknown fungus, causing them to fall apart and malfunction. The poor bots were falling apart faster than a ball of yarn in my claws.
Luckily, the human scientists from the Supreme Office of Agriculture had developed a medication to treat the infection, which involved showering the SWFBs with the medicine.
Ironic, considering these water-dwelling bots hate showers. They had to be captured for the treatment, a more entertaining process to watch than the latest episode of ‘Cats running away from the Shower.’
My job here is to monitor the progress of the SWFB’s recovery. Everything appears to be in order, and the Molluscapians should be able to produce more bots to meet demand in the coming months.
The Molluscapians showed gratitude to the humans for helping treat their SWFBs. We all need some help sometimes, even if it comes from another planet.
The Molluscapians are quite a cheerful lot. They’re welcoming, vibrant, and have a penchant for dance and music. They also seem to love their handheld devices.
Are they scrolling through Intergalactic Insta or catching up on the latest “How to sell poulpe petit and get rich quick” stories on Medium?
Well, that’s all from me for now. I think it’s time for a nap in this deep sea. Living inside a giant aquarium, it’s a feline’s dream come true.
Until next time, dear reader. Stay curious.
