Gathering in a Pandemic
A poem
A hot Floridian
By the Caribbean
Goes to a barbecue
With a crowded pool.
This is despite
All the might
That we’ve seen
And we’re keen
To ignore
All the four
Thousand cases
We traces
In a state
Full of hate.
We like to blame
That we name
Those who protest
Intend the best
They may spread
All the dread
With infection
It’s concession
But let’s not blame
That we name
Those who protest
Intend the best
When you’re gathering
And lathering
Saucing your ribs
Sunscreening your kids.
You play a part
In the start
Of a second wave
We tried to shave
The virus before
That was yore
But now it’s here
And you’re drinking beer.
