Games of Danger, Skills of Power

The Martian Olympics Series- Episode 3

Photo by Todd Trapani on Unsplash

The Martian Olympics 2050 have arrived,

The Interplanetary Games of Strength and Power,

The excitement grows every passing hour.

The Martian Olympics 2050 are a treat to watch,

As the stadiums are aglow in the bright light,

With the flames of the Olympic torch alight.

When the Invaders strike with their toxic attack,

Of poison spewing dragons from the land of Matadorm,

Where the fiercest creatures of the galaxy hunt and roam.

The Martian Marshals got the matter under control,

When they captured the invaders and froze them cold.

The Games of danger are fierce and rough,

Played by sportsmen trained and tough.

The Horsemen of Tanora with weapons drawn,

Chased the creatures of savagery from dawn.

The Gladiators of Saturn fought the beasts,

From the wild sands of Garamesh,

A number of them lost their savage lives,

As they battled with shields and knives.

The mutants of Neptune rode the flying dragons,

Across the wild plains on the red sand winds.

The athletes are ready as they will ever be,

To go down in the annals of history.

With centuries-old traditions,

Every age had its own renditions.

The medals and trophies glisten in the light,

As the athletes keep them in their sight.

The javelins of the Saturnians,

Flew through the red sky and the dust,

Piercing the wild beasts of smoke and rust.

Strange worlds of creatures in sports,

Some forgotten, some lives lost and some own,

Under the blazing rays of the Martian Sun,

The wolf-shark infested waters of the oceans,

Are filled with the sporting-hunters with weapons,

As diverse as the lands on which they run.

Harpooning dangerous sea beasts with their guns,

Winning prizes of Olympics glory and fame,

Forever emblazoning their names in lights of red,

Wearing their helmets of victory on their head.

Just as the Games were getting more interesting,

Notwithstanding the death, victory, and destruction.

The Vampires and their steeds attacked the Games,

Feeding on the sportspersons of all nations,

Like some type of Olympic feeding station.

When it seemed that all was lost for the games,

The Wild Centaurs of Jormalan arrived in strength,

To save the Games and defeat the marauders,

As they tossed the legion of bloodthirsty Vampires,

Into the raging, furious flames of the Olympic fires.

The Martian Olympics 2050 have arrived,

The Interplanetary Games of Power,

The excitement grows every hour.

The planetary contenders have come,

To walk, to play, to jump, to fight, and run.

With centuries-old traditions,

Every age had its own renditions.

The medals and trophies glisten in the light,

As the athletes keep them in their sight.
