FUTURE WARFARE [CIRCA 2025] According To A Chief NASA Scientist

I found this power point presentation by a NASA chief scientist on future warfare focused on technology trends in IT/Bio/Nano with a focus on the projected landscape of 2025. It’s unclear when it was made, but one website puts the publication date as 2011. There’s what looks like a month/year date format on one of the slides that indicates 2001.
One of the authors, Dennis Bushnell, is an out of the box thinker that caught my attention initially for other reasons. Because of this it’s not clear if this more his personal work or official work for NASA, but it does have the NASA logo on it. It’s 113 slides so I won’t go over them all. I’ve singled out the ones I find interesting.

It opens up by stating our ability to create wealth is bounded only by our ability to come up with new ideas and that the causes of war are politics, religion, megalomania, and territorial disputes.

Before diving into the weaponization of technology it pitches the use of web based distance education as a way to create equality, enable invention, stabilize population, and rapidly diffuse technology.
I have to say that I like this idea a lot and recall sitting in the classroom in highs school fantasizing about how most of my classes could be taught from the computer more effectively and efficiently. To this day I’m not sure why the supposed smart money of Silicon Valley thought it more prudent to invest in Facebook and Twitter rather than something like this.

In this slide titled “Givens” (Now-to-“Soon”) it mentions ubiquitous land/sea/air/space multiphysics/hyperspectral sensor swarms as well as robotic swarm technologies. This stands out to me we have heard of alleged incidents in the UAP reports of what could be described as robotic swarm technologies. We also are now publicly hearing talk of creating the kind of all domain (land, sea, air, and space) sensor and fusion capabilities described for investigating UAP.

This next slide mentions the use of “co-opted insects.” This presumably is the idea of placing technology on insects as a form of covert delivery or recon system. Oddly enough, I’ve witnessed something once that resembled exactly that. Being “bugged” in the 21st century may take on a new meaning.

This slide mentions camo/spoofing. This is another topic that comes up in the UAP subject. Advanced camouflage perhaps even using cloaking technology via advancements in metamaterials as well as sophisticated spoofing such as IR and RF image projection. The slide even mentions beam weapons becoming increasingly prevalent.

This next slide get’s a bit dark as it’s speculating bioweapons potential. Post Covid this one probably hits different. Personally the “long term/fingerprintless campaign (as opposed to shock and awe)” one stands out to me. Turns out that one may’ve been prophetic or at least it should be clear at this point how realistic it is.

This slide gives us a relative understanding of what may come first and apparently it isn’t leaving artificial life (beyond AI) off the table.

Recall Havana Syndrome? It was a mysterious illness effecting mostly US intelligence personnel that was first reported in 2017. The media and most people mocked it and claimed it was “mass hysteria” and that “they probably were hungover.” 60 Minutes did a more serious report on it this year and a law was passed to compensate people affected by it 2021. The issue is classified, but microwave weapons were suspected for years. To this day people will tell you no such technology exists.

Still think that’s true? According to this slide the Army, SRI, and Walter Reed have studied how low power microwaves can cause biological effects including behavoral performance decrements and seizures. It’s worth noting that the subject of Havana Syndrome also came up in the UAP discussions and so does SRI quite frequently.

Psywar “In-the-Large” is on this slide. That’s never come up in the UAP discussion. Oh, wait yes it has. So wierd.

This one mentions some US vulnerabilities. Once again biowarfare and IT war comes up and it even mentions sensitivity to casualties with something called “CNN sydrome.” Given the context I take this to mean the potential for an adversery to rely on the media to hyperfocus on casualties as a tactic. It appears to have also been a bit prophetic in recognizing potential supply chain issues. It’s almost uncanny considering how Covid unfolded.
It also mentions underwater threats. If you recall the first ever public congressional hearing in 50 years on UAP a question was asked about USO’s and the response was that it would be discussed in the classified session. USO’s and transmedium travel have long been within the scope of the UAP topic.

Here’s another interesting one. “It will soon be possible to connect human brain cells to silicon chips.” Believe it or not. This kind of an idea has also come up in the UAP discussion. The mind interfacing with technology directly has come up not just as speculation but was also referenced as a “cognitive human interface” in a leaked AATIP slide.

There is a lot more to this presentation, but I just wanted to share the slides that personally stood out to me. If you want to see the entire presentation it’s here and you can download it here.
