Privacy is a huge deal, as it should be.

One has extra care not to leak any data, anywhere.

The world is under siege, hackers proliferate and hijack entire companies, breaching security, leaving chaos behind them…

These days I went to the bank.

I was there, waiting in line, and there were two counters busy with clients.

One of the counters had a foreign couple that should be opening a bank account. The bank’s employee was doing his best explaining to them where to sign, what to do, and then they got to the definition of the multichannel code to secure operations.

Suddenly, I start hearing out loud the phone call with the services, in order to define this security code!

I was appalled!

Not only was the code being said out loud, but the employee was writing it down so the customers could understand it, as they did not understand Portuguese and the code was being said in this language!

Then, the customers, really happy to have understood it, repeated it continuously in English!

I left, wide-eyed, thinking that we are good people and did not mean any harm to them, but what if we were not?

So… this happens, with young people, in a big city… how come wouldn’t it happen in smaller lands, with older people, less informed and trustful in others goodwill?
