Functionally A Love Note to Liberty Forrest, Author

Buckle up, buttercup, cause I’m about to have feelings all over your screen

This morning, as I (mostly) always do, I sat down to check on Medium. And I realized, scrolling through my feed, that the algorithm had deeply fallen down on the job.

It had been days since it showed me anything from Liberty Forrest, Author.

UNACCEPTABLE. THIS SLIGHT WILL NOT STAND.

So, mentally flipping off the computer, I went straight to her page and settled in with a cup of tea, an “eeee new Liberty readings!” and a shocked realization that I had missed SO MANY POSTS.

Rude, Medium algorithm. RUDE.

Hmph, I tell you. Hmph.

I started with the newest post and got down to reading.

Heads Up, Liberty Forrest, Author Is The Loveliest Human

One day ago, she posted a story called “The Best Friendships Are Like Matryoshka Dolls” in Thank You Notes. It was a story about the friendship, kindness, and loveliness of another writer on Medium, her friend Sandy Peckinpah.

(Note to self — follow this lady immediately)

As I got to the end of the article, I found myself tearing up.

Have you ever come across someone, in person or online, whose kindness just radiates? Who, when you are gifted with the chance to interact with them (probably as a karmic reward for letting that person in the lane next to you cut in front when you were already mad, cause God knows that wasn’t easy) is the embodiment of kindness and generosity itself?

I have met many lovely people on Medium. Fabulous, brilliant, supportive people who are very nice and very excellent and very every possible positive adjective.

But there have been very few people in my life, online or off, who shed light like a cat sheds fur. Reading her articles and comments legit makes me feel like I’m surrounded by Glinda’s pink and gold bubble-cloud.

If you’re in Hope * Healing * Humor, you probably know what I mean. I defy anyone on here to not have a story about her kindness, her humor, how insanely supportive she is. How truly excellent the puns in her Witchy comics are. Her overall general awesomeitude.

(It’s a word. I just invented it.)

Conclusion: The Entire World Needs to Appreciate Liberty Forrest, Author

I got the inspiration for writing this from her post on Thank You Notes. I thought maybe I should publish this there, but I only just requested to be added as a writer and I am FAR too impatient to sit on this, because quite frankly the world needs the wisdom I am about to impart.

And that wisdom is this: we are all damn lucky to know someone like Liberty Forrest, Author.

May she ride eternal, shiny and chrome.

(If you don’t get that reference, watch Fury Road. You’re welcome.)
