Fun Times with Your Children to Feel Young

Playing games good for you?

Since I have children, I play with them. It could be games, as just being in the playground or anything else they love; it doesn’t matter what I’m doing with them.

As long as they love it when mama or papa plays with them. That time with their parents is important for their bonding with us. The more you do with them, the more bonding you get, but they also need to get their own (free) time and be independent doing things on their own.

Playing games with your children!

I love their faces when I play with them. The first time I played with my oldest — about four months old — I loved playing peekaboo. The little laugh, with that sweet sound, was extremely satisfying to listen to. Her first teeth were funny to watch. I hugged her as well. When I did that, I moved my body up and down. She laughed even harder. All my kids’ clattering was so funny to hear, which made me laugh too. And she thought that was more fun, that mama was having fun too.

When my middle daughter ran away when we played tag, she was — at least she thought she was — faster than I was. I let her win now and then. I also taught her that she can’t always win. Life is not always the way you want, but that you have to compromise.

You have to learn to play and work together in teams.

Fun at an older age?

Children barely see adults playing with a child or playing games. Most adults have to work, do their own thing, or have no time playing with their children. Most parents are older than 35 years old when they start getting children. When you get children at an older age, you might be a little bit more tired. At least I saw that with my mother when she had me at the age of 44. She had a job, but at the same time, she was tired often and not playing physical games with her children.

Although I played card games. I made music, I made a snowman, and I went skating with my father (five years younger than my mother). So, I played with my parents in another way than doing physical games with them.

Final thoughts

After realizing this, I created more of such fun moments with all three kids. I saw the fun and all the twinkles in their eyes when I played with them. My heart melted so much I — sometimes — cried because they had so much fun because of the little things of life. They don’t realize the craziness of this — yet — beautiful life. Laughing about the weirdest noise mama makes.

The older they get, the different games the kids want to play. Even then, you can participate and play with them. They love it when mom or dad play with them. They love it when they may choose the game they are playing with their parents. Also, make this playtime with your children a moment of education in a fun way. Then you have a win-win situation; they play, plus they learn as you — as a parent — want them to do.

I believe that — as adults — we should play a lot more as well. We should enjoy the fun times with our kids much more. What are they doing? What are their struggles? Also, why do they things the way they do?

It is not only learning about what our kids love and don’t love. It’s also about their struggles, and it is about creating our happy inner. When you play like a kid, no matter what you’’ doing, you definitely feel the inner peace of yourself. I have experienced that.
