Frustration And How To Deal With It

Simply by using your inborn spirituality

Spirituality is part of our entire system — our physical body, our thoughts, our actions, our existence. I do not always heed its gentle urgings. I sometimes totally deny its existence, but it is there and everywhere just like the air we breathe.

If a child ignores or fails to heed the urgings of its parent, there are consequences, and not always pleasant. It is the same with Spirituality. Ignore it and pay the consequences.

When feeling frustrated you can throw up your hands and say “What’s the use?” or you can get angry, resentful, or forgetful and dismiss the entire incident and say “Not my job, man!”

Or, you can look for methods of dealing with the frustrations that have arisen, maybe “Out of nowhere!”

In the times we are living in right now it is easy to get frustrated. Remember the Serenity Prayer? It implores us to change ONLY the things that we can and to accept the rest.

The ONLY thing that you can change is yourself. What can you do to change the fears that abound brought upon by anything? You have a choice — either make the best of the present situation or become totally frustrated, hateful, and resentful, and still not be able to change the situation.

This brings us back to FEAR. Fear is the root of all of our character defects and can be fatal to anyone. As a human being, though, you have been given the tool of Spirituality to help carry you through this situation and any other that may arise.

The AA 3rd Step says “Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood Him.”

Many believe, mistakenly, that the AA 12 Steps are for alcoholics only. They are mistaken. Only the 1st half of the 1st Step even mentions alcohol. All of the rest deal with our thinking.

How do you practice Spirituality? By practicing the 3rd step totally and completely and believing it to be true whether you are an alcoholic or not.

How do you do it totally and completely? By using the shortened version of the 3rd step — just humbly saying “God, Help Me,” then getting out of His way and letting Him.

You might start by Faking it until you make it and then soon there will be no faking it. It will feel like it is original to you.

Get rid of the negativity in your life! No matter if it is large or small, big or little. A “Little” negativity is like a “little” pregnancy, it either is or it isn’t! And even a little bit of negativity can sour an entire life.

My prayer is that God Blesses you with as much as He has blessed me and with even more so that we all can be Happy, Joyous, and Free. And, if He blesses you with more than He has me, I will have something to strive for, too!

Thank you, God!
