Frozen
A double etheree poem
You have been gone too long. I cannot stop thinking of my loss, wondering how to move forward in a world without you, a world I must build alone. Overwhelmed, I am frozen in place: stalled, here among the ruins of our world.
What can I do, how to jump-start my heart? I have a list, as long as my arm, tasks to be done, yet still I sit distracting myself with words, that world you never shared. Books, words, poetry: only these soothe. You have been gone too long.

I humbly submit this, my heart-felt etheree, and hope you enjoy it. Right now, my confidence is somewhat lacking and my vision obscured by the sleet that mars my inner landscape.
So many thanks to Melissa Coffey for her lesson and prompt about the etheree. Having so little formal education in poetry, this was entirely new to me. I love how my connections here push me to stretch my writing muscles and hopefully, grow!
