From Quick Fling to Quick Feelings: Tinder Strikes Again

Photo by Katie Salerno on Pexel

Hi LoversBud,

I’m writing here because I feel alone with no one to share my feelings with. I have never done short flings in my life; only proper relationships. But feeling lonely after moving to Thailand, I thought to go on tinder and give it a shot.

I met this guy who was upfront that he is not looking for anything long term, and I thought I was good with it. We went on one date, then went on a staycation together 3 weeks later. We clicked so well, better than I imagined that I begin catching feelings.

I know there’s no way he will change his life goal for me, hence I’m feeling kind of sad for not having better control over my feelings. At the same time, I just feel life’s playing a cruel joke; when I find someone who just fits with me, I have to hold back from telling him how I feel because I do not want to cause him distress.

Dear writer,

I am sorry for what you are going through. It’s very common for one or both parties to develop feelings from a friends-with-benefit arrangement. Do not beat yourself too much over it.

I strongly suggest you end things with him as soon as possible, for your peace of mind and to gain some clarity about what you want.

Take this as a lesson, learn what you can, and move on. Do Not Repeat The Mistake.
