I Will Just Hold Your Hand
Take your time

You don’t have to say anything. I can see your “parts”; they are spread on the floor. I almost stepped on your self-esteem as I walked through the hallway. That was after having seen your dignity thrown at a corner, looking at me like an abandoned dog.
The house has the smell of burnt dreams mixed with alcohol. Your cat seems to be the main resident alive here; she looked straight into my eyes, and I think she told me “do something”. Just like that; without an exclamation point. She doesn’t get too excited or disappointed; she leaves these to the humans.
Your bedroom’s atmosphere weighs a few tons. How do you carry it all day long? It’s amazing what humans can bear, both in the negative and the positive sense. Because even a positively great event needs strong shoulders to carry it. It may be unmanageable…
Now, we have a situation; I can’t find you in the dark. Let me palpate the air here to understand if an object is in front of me. Yes, I remember the furniture of your bedroom, but something might have changed. So, I have to also use the peripheral “vision” of my mind; to sense where my body is in here, and how much space it takes in the room.
OK, here’s the bed. Your breathing accompanies my thoughts all this time. It is of a low frequency; of course. You are not stressed. You have reached the next level; a distanced apathy.
Let me find your hand to hold it. Because this is what I will do now. You know me for a long time. I’m not going to start saying these standardized prompting shit, like “Come on! Wake up! Life is beautiful! Look at the positive side! Let me open the window. The Sun shines! Get dressed and let’s go out for a walk!”.
Oh, no, no, no. No toxic positivity, my friend.
All these can help only when the moment is suitable for you. I don’t exactly have a problem with the content of the phrases, but with the unsuitable moments people usually “choose” automatically to say them. Pushing for something that is not ready to be, raping life’s flow.
This is not what you need right now. My whole perception system clearly tells me that.
So, I will just hold your hand. I am here.
