Friendly Shadows Enjoying Conversation

September Six Word Photo Story Challenge — “Shadows”

T’was a dark and stormy night

Okay, I lied for the sake of the photo. It was actually a pretty balmy summer night. There was a power cut and we decided to retire to the terrace as it was much cooler there. The moon kindly shone down on us as bats flew around — it was their time of day.

We strolled around (we have a really large terrace that spans the top of two buildings) admiring the view, dissing our politics and politicians, chatting about the state of the economy, reminiscing about family stuff, worrying about our son (that’s a given, right?). Oh, and Sury was keeping me in fits of laughter with his amazing sense of humor and multilingual puns. Basically business as usual!

We paused at one point — ever notice how, when you are talking about something secretive you stop and whisper? That’s what we…okay…I did. As I smiled and turned to see the wall, I was amused to see our shadows. Sometimes, it is pretty hard to click photos of shadows as they turn out overly grainy. I persevered until I got a kinda-sorta decent photo. I liked it!

For those wondering, that’s me on the left and hands-on-hips-Sury on the right.
