Friend of Medium — My Experience After 15 Days

Is the momentum still building?

The Friend of Medium Tier has been available for a little over two weeks. I made the upgrade as soon as possible to help support other writers. I also noticed an immediate uptick in my own earnings.

I’ve written a couple of times about this topic, and it’s been extremely popular. If you are on the fence about making the upgrade, maybe my experience can help you decide if it’s worth it or if you should stay with your current plan.

Here are my daily earnings for December.

12/01/23 — $4.13

12/02/23 — $24.07

12/03/23 — $10.51

12/04/23 — $3.34

12/05/23 — $9.14

12/06/23 — $21.95

12/07/23 — $10.39

12/08/23 — $12.09

12/09/23 — $8.92

12/10/23 — $5.25

12/11/23 — $11.52

12/12/23 — $3.86

12/13/23 — $12.25

12/14/23 — $5.81

12/15/23 — $14.94

Total — $158.17

These earnings average around $10.54 per day. Obviously, this is much greater than my previous daily average of roughly $2 in November. The daily earnings are still unpredictable, as some days are a lot better than others. Will it continue like this for the rest of the year? Who knows!

Overall, I’m happy with making the upgrade, and I hope my reads/engagement are also making a positive difference for others. I try to write an article a day on Medium, but I know this isn’t always possible.

I still believe the key to gaining more reads for your articles is to spend most of your time reading and interacting with other writers.

Building friendships while helping others earn is one of the best things about Medium.
