So You Are New To Freelancing

Now that you are in the article, I am gonna take this as you have an idea about what Freelancing is, right. For those people who don’t know what freelancing is: Freelancing basically means self-employment and getting hired by people/companies online to get desired outcomes. They pay you a significant amount for the job you execute.

In order to get hired by people/companies, you need to have some kind of skill. It could be anything like Writing, Translation, Animation Jobs, Video Editing, etc.(you get the idea) To be informative I have to List out all the kind of Jobs below so that you can locate your interest. (feel free to skip the list if you already have something in your mind)

These are some things that we do every day. I believe that everyone in the world has some sort of expertise. Haven’t you heard the saying, It goes like this: “Excellence is not a skill it’s an attitude”-Ralph Marston. Yeah, you probably haven’t heard that one before. But all I am trying to say is that hunt your inner dexterity down and embrace it. (gone a bit motivational here).Dude, how much time does it take to learn a new thing? I am gonna give you an example here so that you can relate to me I guess. So I learned video editing from scratch in 4 weeks. I watched tutorials from youtube, and that is all I did. FYI I also started a youtube channel and have uploaded 2 videos so far. (May 2020)I am not professional for now, but I do okay. You can watch youtube tutorials or take a course on video editing, I don’t know. All that is needed to do this is time and mindset. This applies to every other skill in the list. I mean the way you acquire it, not the time part. (not every skill can be acquired in 4 weeks)I do know that some things are just hard to grasp like writing, you need to get your grammar right, punctuation right, vocabulary, and a lot more. (i can say this cuz I am also a blogger)

Now, let’s talk about where to do this stuff. Guess how weird that would be if I didn’t mention the website to visit at all. Good thing I remembered to do that. I did some research and tried to provide all the information that you need to know to get started on this platform. I am gonna mention websites in a list in a randomly ordered manner. 1. Fiverr

The first pick on the list is Fiverr. It is a widely popular platform. Found and based in Israel from 2010.This sort of works in the opposite way that traditional platforms do. Freelancers create their jobs based upon what they are good at, rather than companies posting jobs that freelancers can apply for.

Freelancers can market their services to companies and can put their gigs into categories by using keywords that show up in different searches. The names come from the idea that the freelancers will start their prices at $5 per project. This is not a requirement, just the starting point for their prices. People who want to earn money, need to know how to use Fiverr in the right way.

Overall, a very trusted website to pursue, I mean you can see the affiliated websites i.e, Google, Netflix, Facebook, and whatnot. It takes some time to get someone to hire you but it will be worth it. If you are bilingual, you can earn money by just translating, how cool is that. Go get it done guys and best of luck.

2. Freelancer.com

The second pick is Freelancer. (corny name)Founded in 2009, it is based on Australia though it also has offices in Vancouver, London, Buenos Aires, Manila, and Jakarta. Freelancer offers more than 100 various types of jobs. A Freelancer lets you compete with other freelancers in contests to prove your skills. If you are confident in your expertise and competitive enough, then it’s a great way to show your aptitudes and draw more clients.

Freelancer entertains clients and freelance workers in every category. Whether you are a photographer, software engineer, or 3D artist, a client must be waiting for you at the Freelancer portal. You can choose to work on an hourly basis or a fixed rate per project. If you want to test your skillset, a vast variety of contests are waiting for you with a guaranteed prize.

If you have confidence in that you are very skilled and expertise in any of the aforementioned kinds of jobs, the Freelancer can help you get a client. Go for it.

3. Upwork

Upwork is more like freelancer, it is another main competitor for major freelance job boards. Based in Santa Clara and San Francisco, California Upwork was found in 2015. It bids huge categories of jobs that can easily be performed online. Regardless of the payment isn’t each time the best, the total amount of jobs accessible will always give you something to do. Today, this freelancing site is considered as the biggest workplace for freelance. From writers & designers to lawyers & accountants, it has something to offer to everyone.

Everything can be done on a computer — from the graphic design to mobile and web programming — can be done on Upwork. Freelance specialists can challenge a variety of projects that include short, huge, team-based, or individual projects.

PeoplePerHour is a UK based freelancing website that was found in 2007. It is an emerging freelancing portal focused on web designers, software engineers, SEO professionals, digital designers, and marketers.

You can go through hundreds of jobs to get the best project as per your skillset. You will receive notifications for new job openings right in your inbox. It is better to get a premium plan, but newbies can send up to 15 proposals to clients for free.

It helps these people to connect clients. This site allows you to showcase your talent get hired by the project or by the hour. It is worth checking out for those who are focused on completing any type of web-focused project.

5. Toptal

Toptal is a freelancing network based on Silicon Valley and was found in 2007. It harbors talented individuals from over a hundred countries around the globe. You can easily find jobs from numerous industries like healthcare, e-commerce, banking, and more. Applicants to Topal site are tested and vetted before they applied for the job. Many known companies hire freelancers on Toptal for their projects.

The screening process of Toptal is pretty strict. Being an expert in your field is the only way to get accepted on this site. The purpose of bonding Guru to the list is to enhance a bulging freelancing jobs site to the list. Show off your past work while being given access to new jobs every day. You will also be able to see how much a company has spent using Guru’s freelancer pool — helping to decide whether or not the client will be a good match for your work. This platform is aimed at college kids that are looking for a way to get more of that cash while they are in school. Students and recent graduates can find part-time gigs aimed at their industry of choice — some even get lucky and land a career. There are many types of jobs and clients to be found, so students shouldn’t fear a lack of options when they choose to take a freelance work route.

10. Craiglist

Very few businesses and freelancers have started leveraging craigslist. Craigslist has one of the biggest userbases in the online world with 10 million unique visitors visiting its site daily.

Depending on what niche you’re freelancing in, Craigslist can be a useful source of finding freelance gigs.
