Freedom Museum
An anti-autocracy rant
I’m tired of writing poetry about love and what’s gone to the floor, half the world is fucked up, the other half at war. No one wants to save our world or teach what’s gone before.
What do you want? A poem to make you laugh I suppose, one hand is on suicide, the other holding a rose. Cities are broke, Congress is a joke, and we all accept it, I suppose.
The answer to every squabble, take up a gun, it makes good TV when the killer is on the run. When is it over, people? When will this creeping ivy of hatred wilt and die, and we can again be one?
There is an answer to nature’s plight, but politicians threaten busted mouths and go outside to fight. We are locked in our universal suffering, still fighting over color, restructuring our human rights.
The truth is on our streets, the lonely, the addicts, homeless, we are not improving our Democracy. It’s the age of greed, political mobsters who back the oldest enemy, a new autocracy.
The truth is I’m nervous, my ass is puckering more every day with what I’m witnessing. I met a friend across the sea, what is going on in America? He asked, everyone is Xing and not Twittering.
That’s how dumbed down this world is, we don’t take any notice and that’s a huge mistake. Enemies of freedom are coming to you and me, and with political scalpels what a fine mess they will make.
America fought a revolution to rid itself of a King, and that was a costly endeavor for the cause of freedom. Once again we have architects who deny our democratic rights and will put them in a museum.
