Freedom Captured
An Abecedarian Poem

A wounded bird by the side of the road, Cant move lay sad and scared Dream it must be, she wished. Ecstatic she was a moment ago Fluttering high up with her flock Got chased away, by birds of prey Hovering over them was a large crowd Injured, crashed to the ground Jolted by the episode, teardrop in eye Kissed hope goodbye Lifted by a traveler Mended and cared as his own Nurtured, and fond of bird he grew Optimistic the birdie felt, as she Prepare to fly, to regain freedom. Quietly the excitement vanished when Rescuer brought her a cage Smiling at the birdie he saved Terrified at her savior’s gesture Unable to fly Venting out through melancholy sighs Wandering about her folks in the sky, she is Xenium for her savior Yondering freedom goodbye Zoning out.
