Free Meditations for Success, Happiness, Self-Love and More (March ‘23)
Updated Monthly

For the last few years I have been trying to meditate more as a means to improve focus, mindfulness and general wellness. As of September 21, 2022, I have discovered new goals for meditation after deciding to officially stop drinking. I’ll write more about my decision and it’s implications in the future, but for this post I’ll keep it to my new meditation goals and free meditations that I have found to be helpful.
I plan to update this post monthly to ensure I remove any broken links and add other meditations that I come across. Readers should feel free to share any meditations that they have found worthwhile in the comments!
The Advice
Before I get into the meditations themselves, here are a few pieces of advice for meditating that I think have served me well!
Reduce Sensory Stimuli
This is big. Eventually my goal is to be able to meditate anywhere, anytime. I have greatly improved over the years but definitely still find myself having the best meditations when I remove sensory stimuli, such as light, obtrusive sounds, and temperature.
Here’s how I’ve been able to mitigate sensory distractions.
- Close my eyes — sometimes I use an eye mask but I try not to
- Noise cancelling headphones
- Keeping the room at a relatively cool temperature
- Wear loose, soft clothing — I usually take my shirt off if I am able
- Shoes off
At Least One Meditation Per Day; Preferably Two
This one is big. I’ve found I get far more out of my meditations when I commit (and do not compromise) to doing it everyday. The more you do something, the better you get at it and the more you’re likely to make it a habit.
While I have been slacking a bit lately on doing it twice a day, I have been doing well maintaining at least one a day. I am currently trying to fully commit to doing two a day — one in the morning, one before bed. It’ll be a good way to signal my body that it’s time to both wake up and go to sleep.
At Least 10 Minutes Per Meditation; Preferably More
Even though I’ve been meditating for a while now, I still find myself taking a little longer to “get into” a meditation. Sometimes I don’t need much time, but more often then not I need a few minutes to get in the zone. Because of this added time, I like to do meditations that are at least 10 mins so I have more time within a meditative state.
Note: I have included a few shorter meditations for those with little free time. Even a short meditation is better than no meditation.
Guided Meditations are Best
My last piece of advice is to do guided meditations — especially if you’re new to the experience. You want as little overhead work to do as possible so that you can just fall into a meditative state.
By having someone guide you, all you need to do is listen and surrender. If you were to do your own, you’d have to focus more on the procedure and steps — sometimes this focus can take away from the point of the meditation which often times is to let go.
The Meditations
Now, let’s get to the meditations themselves. The meditations are organized by category to make it easier to find what you’re looking for!
The categories are in alphabetical order.
