Fragmentary Reveries
An escape
A spinning world My soul, Spun and wrenched
Unsettled heartbeats Within me Misplaced in the darkness In melancholy, in despondency,
Eyes drowned in tears Likened to pearls Glistening like rising stars Fell to the realm of stillness Down the frigid cheeks Still quivering in dismay
Close your eyes, a voice whispered In that darkness, She found a world of her own Where she danced over delicate grass Basking in the peaceful glow of sunshine In that light, she beamed dazzlingly Like a star yet to be located
A ladybug anchored on her fingers, and lingered by her side silently “Are you pretending not to know?”, “I have to go back there someday”, She uttered to herself
In the rising world of decadence She learned she had to walk alone With a puff, she landed the ladybug at a safe place
Then, she mustered up her gutsiness Opened her eyes to the real world A world where your stronghold Can be dominated by turbulences Shattered into unrecognizable bits Once your mind wavers
Here, she stood in the middle of all the hustle and bustle of the city lights Awakened and found by the almost blinding skyscraper lights No longer lost in reverie
