Foxes Glofa
Floral poetry challenge for hope day 1

Tall spike of tubular bells. All shades of purple, pink and white. Spotted tongue, carpeted welcome for bees and hummingbirds.
Through summer woods and hedgerow banks, across the heath, dotting the burnt back heather and overturned grounds. A regeneration plant.
Coop up the chickens for fox his footfall softens by wrapping paws in gloves. Beware the foxes glew. This fairy song will hew your fibrillated heart.
Toxic fox. Digitalis, poison or cure, depends upon the intention of the hedge witch’s medication.
I spotted Arjan Tupan taking part in a poetry challenge by Tapan Avasthi. I love the idea so much I’m joining in. Fancy a poetry challenge for seven days? Why not join in as well.
Arjan laid it out far more eloquently than I could. ‘Tapan said that in India, guests are welcomed with flower garlands, and prompts us poets to welcome the second half of 2020, a year that has seen so much tragedy, with a garland of floral poetry of hope.
- write flower-themed poetry - publish one every day from 1 to 7 July - tag with Floral Week and share with tag #floralweek - give credit to Tapan Avasthi for the idea.’
Seven days, seven poems, seven flowers. A celebration of hope and change #floralweek.
You can read Arjan’s info post here as well as his first contribution.
