Four Myths We Love to Live With

We don’t question the principles of life that we abide by.
When the age-old rules don’t work, we blame our fate. But we never consider a different way of living — sometimes far better than the existing lifestyle.
Sometimes, the only thing we need to improve is a change in mindset.
But we seldom do that. It would push us away from our comfort zone around our lives.
Below are a few life lessons I learned through harsh lessons in life.
I hope it helps somebody from not making the same mistake.
#1. What you feel is your fantasy
Why has nobody taught us to trust our intuition?
When I look back to the love interests I had from my mid-twenties, I found one similarity in all the failures.
A small voice inside my head warned me, and I ignored it.
We spent the midnight oil to become the class topper by studying the facts.
But only a few books are there that I remember spoke about intuition.
How do you know if a person, job, or a new city is good for you?
- Tap into your feeling
- Take a pause and honestly audit your first feeling about the place or the person
Trust me, the first few feelings never lie to you.
It would help if you learn to believe them.
#2. You will be successful if you follow others NOT if you can create something of your own
We all spend around 10–15 years on school and college degrees.
And everywhere we study the facts and figures.
For example, physics will teach a few laws. Chemistry talks about the chemical reaction, and mathematics is again the formula.
I don’t remember any subject that taught about creating your business.
Yesterday, I thought that if I had known ten years back about the possibility of earning money by executing my ideas, I would have done something concrete by this time.
- Don’t underestimate the revenue-generating ideas you have
- It’s never too late. Spend at least a few minutes daily to think and do something about your one-person business.
#3. Love is a fairytale dream
Two strange people look at each other in some random place. They connect and instantly know that they are for each other.
It’s not just you. Even I spent most of my adolescent years in this thought.
After so many heartbreaks, here is my version of a love story.
If the mentality matches, it’s a solid partnership. If the thought process does not match, step back. Don’t compromise.
A romantic partnership is not a relationship to compromise. It’s a place where both of you will grow into beautiful beings. (from your heart and soul).
It will automatically show in your physical beauty.
Love is not a fairytale dream for me anymore. It’s about knowing each other and the non-negotiable without being dishonest with yourself.
#4. Financial knowledge is only for accountant
I am not saying you have to know every financial jargon and can do the stock analysis.
But everybody should know the importance of financial investment early in life.
My CA told me if I had started an investment of just 3k for ten years, I would have seen the magic of compounding by now. I knew nothing about investment until a few years back. Now, I know something, at least.
If you don’t have time to study finance, hire a CA and save for early retirement.
