Forward Motion: Write for a Publication of Happiness
Stories about life and the pursuit of it.
Happiness. We all want it, right? I know I do. But where is the road to happiness? Is it East or West? Up or down? In or out?
In these trying times, we all need a little happiness in our lives. Dark, isolated days are soon behind us, and the light of something new is dawning. I believe it is the light of happiness.
That is why I want to move forward and pursue it. One way I accomplish this is by writing positive, happy stories in my new publication, Forward Motion.
Meanwhile, I want to share them with you and gather your stories for all to read.
Forward Motion Publication
This a space where we explore all avenues, facets, and reflections of happiness in short and short-form stories.
But first, let’s consider this thing called happiness. What is it? A feeling, state of being, or circumstance?
In this publication, I look at happiness in terms of love, sound, music, struggle, gratitude, and grace…among the infinite expanse of all things happy.
Love As Happiness
For instance, what about happiness as love? It flows in three directions — within, without, and all about.
To experience true happiness, I must look within and love myself. But before that can happen, there may be work to do.
Over the years, I have made poor choices, spoken against others, and I often felt guilty and ashamed. Other times my choices offended others even though I did no wrong.
For example, I had a falling out with a family member, and they passed before I could reconcile with them. I carried that pain for 40-years.
Because I hadn’t forgiven her, I was bitter.
A Solution
However, the first step to resolve this issue is to be kind to me. That way I can forgive myself, ask forgiveness, love, and be happy.
Next, let’s consider happiness as a gift we can give to humanity. The only way to preserve happiness as a gift is we must first possess it. That takes courage.
What?
How dare we be happy during hard times, grief, and loss? But that’s the good news!
We can be happy despite our circumstances. Happiness is the greatest kind of gift when we give it away.
The last way to fulfill our lives is engagement with the Divine. In my faith, I gain it from prayer, meditation, song, praise, or just simple reflection.
Sitting in nature observing Creation is akin to a spiritual experience for me. And I am happy.
Calling You
Enough of my story. How are you happy? I want to know!
Forward Motion was created to accommodate and showcase short-stories, short-form, and poems about everything happy.
I want stories about how you can be happy despite disability, age, or gender, or struggle. Stories about tips of happiness, lessons learned, memories, hopes, and beliefs. As long as it is a non-fiction happy draft.
I’m calling you!
Your life has a purpose, and it is to write for Forward Motion, and be happy! Please, have fun reading the submission guidelines. Email me your profile to [email protected] with a short happy note about why you want to write for me.
I’ll check you out and add you as a writer (if you pass the happy test). No profanity, sexual innuendos, or abusive language to or about anyone.
Let’s get happy and have a good time! Celebrate, engage, encourage, and inspire each other. I’m excited! How about you?
May the Happiness be with you.
