Abstract

Fortnite's "Item Shop" is a central feature of the game, refreshing every 24 hours with new items that players eagerly anticipate. The article highlights the rarest skins, such as the Aerial Assault Trooper, Renegade Raider, and Skull Trooper, which are highly valued due to their exclusivity and history. It also identifies the "sweatiest" skin, Aura, commonly used by competitive players. Emotes like "Floss" and "Ride the Pony" are noted for their rarity, while the Star Wand pickaxe is deemed the most prestigious among players. The Snowflake Umbrella glider stands out as the rarest glider, being unpurchasable. The article concludes by mentioning less desirable skins and emphasizes the excitement surrounding new item releases, reflecting the game's impact on player culture and the competitive nature of collecting in-game items.

Opinions

  • The author suggests that owning rare Fortnite items elevates a player's status, implying a prestige hierarchy based on in-game purchases.
  • The anticipation of new items in the shop is likened to an event, indicating the significance of these updates in the gaming community.
  • Players are described as quick to judge others based on their in-game items, with terms like "default" and "sweatiest" reflecting a culture of competitiveness and social ranking.

Fortnite: Most Wanted

Rarest and “Most Sweatiest" Skins, Emotes, Gliders & Pickaxe…

Fortnite has become massive in recent years. It’s free to download and play, it’s available across all video game consoles including mobile. Players compete in a “Battle Royale” starting with 100 players, in an everyone for themselves elimination style battle to be the last one standing when the storm ends. (There really is a storm.)

Fortnite, although free to play, features “The Item Shop" that entices the player to equip themselves with the latest gear. The shop replenishes every 24 hours with new skins, emotes and “back bling." In my household the revealing of the newest items is an event met with anticipation on a nightly basis. My son will watch live countdowns on YouTube hours in advance. Him and fellow players are capable of live banter while in competition, and players are quick to call you out and come to assumptions about your skill level based on purchases you have outfitted your character with. Your given the title of “default," if your competing with the standard issued Fortnite beginner package. Outside of the action of the game, players compete in a race to collect all the must haves of the Fortnite item shop. My list that follows includes the most sought after of the collection, that if obtained, will put you in the upper echelon of all Fortnite competitors.

Rarest Skins

The default skin is the original skin, but the first available for purchase was the Aerial Assault Trooper and the Renegade Raider in season 1. You had to be level 15 to purchase him and level 20 to purchase her. Renegade Raider is the most infamous skin and inspired by the Headhunter character in Fortnite.

The Skull Trooper is arguably one of the oldest, yet rarest, skins to ever appear on Fortnite. The skin was first introduced in the item shop back in October of 2017.

Sweatiest Skin

Aura is the primary skin of several pro Fortnite players and sweats across the world. This is known as the sweatiest of the sweat skins.

Rarest Emotes

  • “Floss,” due to it being the latest in the battlepass, is probably going to be the rarest emote in the game.
  • Ride the Pony that used to be part of the Season 2 battle pass was given out to players that purchased “Save the World.” Players who owned it from the battle pass were given the “Pony Up” emote as a reward.

Sweatiest Pickaxe

Star Wand undoubtedly is the sweatiest pickaxe in the entire game right now.

Rarest Glider

Snowflake Umbrella from season 2 couldn’t even be bought, making it the rarest Glider in Fortnite currently.

Now The Skins No Player Desires

  • Rabbit Raider
  • Riley
  • FlyTrap
  • Moisty Merman
  • Oblivion

My son is calling me to his bedroom, time to lay my eyes on the next best Fortnite items available to stock his locker up with, thanks Fortnite.
