Formula One Growing A Younger Audience
Popular Drivers Are Attracting Youthful Fans

Formula One is going through a growth phase. Over the last ten years, the emphasis has been on attracting new fans. Supercar brands like Ferrari and Aston Martin always attract attention, even if their fans don’t own or drive their brands.
A strategy that is paying off is holding races in new venues. Stops in Singapore, Korea, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, and India have shifted the demographic. They have added viewers to the stalwart European fans and also those of the US and Canada.
Currently, there are 37 circuits approved to hold Formula One race events. F1 held its first race in 1950. No less than 73 different circuits have fielded events.
The cars themselves are changing. Year after year, teams must conform to new car design rules and find their advantages. It is a hugely expensive undertaking. Teams like Ferrari and Mercedes AMG reportedly spend several hundreds of millions per year. In trade, the worldwide brand exposure ensures fans from five continents are aware they exist.
2021 is wrapping up yet another successful season. Fans watching the popular Netflix series Drive To Survive are now watching the races for the first time. Five races to go — no one knows what will happen in Mexico this weekend.
The question is, can Verstappen take Hamilton for the World Championship title.
Time will tell.
