Forget About Words Per Hour. Write More Words Per Day
For most authors, the trekking of words per hour is a horror. It makes them feel like factory workers, not artists. Yet, most of us would like to create more in a day.
It has become fashionable among professional writers to increase daily productivity by continually expanding the number of words they write in an hour.
There is nothing wrong with this tactic. But not every author feels comfortable with this method. I, for example, can’t even write for an hour without interruption.
I have to get up in between and stretch my legs. Writing for an hour at a stretch with high levels of concentration doesn’t work for me.
If you feel the same way, I can tell you that it is still possible for people like us to write more in less time. We simply have to concentrate on the working day as a whole rather than on individual hours.
