Forged In Fire A Sonnet Of Sorts

fourteen line political rant

Source: authors personal collection

My challenge write a 14 line poem about the above card from Dominion.

How often do you see a female blacksmith in her forge putting the finishing touches on a sword.

He forged a coalition from hell. The soulless wealthy. The basket of deplorables. The racists, the sexists,the homophobic, The xenophobic,the islamophobic.

Biden, a better human being, Will try to win with logic and reason.

Democrats — complacent That corrupt, narcissistic, incompetent liar can not win — Impossible.

Democrats — not excited He’s not a feminist He’s not a socialist Why vote ho hum.

What! How did Trump win again?

This is day 3 of Sonnet week

Each day I’ll include an example of a sonnet from other writers on medium as well a classical or modern example.

A sonnet by Zev

Sonnet To Italy

FOR thee, Ansonia! Nature’s bounteous hand, Luxuriant spreads around her blooming stores; Profusion laughs o’er all the glowing land, And softest breezes from thy myrtle-shores.

Yet though for thee, unclouded suns diffuse Their genial radiance o’er thy blushing plains; Though in thy fragrant groves the sportive muse Delights to pour her wild, enchanted strains;

Though airs that breathe of paradise are thine, Sweet as the Indian, or Arabian gales; Though fruitful olive and empurpling vine, Enrich, fair Italy! thy Alpine vales; Yet far from thee inspiring freedom flies, To Albion’s coast and ever-varying skies!
