Forest Whispers.

Wind and Leaves, Magpies and Kookaburras. Whispers return.

Forest breathes gently whispering to those that listen. Picture by John Rose.

Wrote about local forest being run over by council bus, Extensive mowing forest floor stripped, Birds moved away, Remember silence.

Been three months, Forest whispers albeit quietly once more, Two kookaburras greeted me, Familiar magpies, Single lorikeet, Still feel pain, Humans and little forest symptomatic of wider concerns, Human attitudes towards climate change, Exploitation and neglect.

Climate change occupying thoughts, How adaptable can humans really be? My thoughts on Gaian levels reinforces opinion human survival in face of changing climate depends on timely and effective actions of families and local communities working together implementing survival strategies, Bottom up causality, Akin to installing roof-top solar power to address electricity rationing and excessive price gouging.

Unfortunately don’t foresee that coping with climate change will be peaceful, Success I believe will involve empathy and altruism, Putting aside differences, Exercising compassion, Seeking forgiveness, Have we the strength?

Blessed be.
