For This Pandemic
A poem
It’s no longer safe
to walk around our
neighborhood
embracing others
Though it’s absolutely fine
to wave a hand
in greeting,
show love and kindness
and above all,
to avoid the blindness
of racially motivated
ideologies which would
lay blame at the
the feet of the Other
for this pandemic
A poem inspired by the COVID-19 pandemic and IdeaStream Mr. Rogers Zen by Xavier Van Holde
