A poem for the little fighters fighting unfair battles

Heart beats too fast, but I keep running in the heat of sun in cloudless sky. Untrained on a mission. Kika run.

On a hot day in the summer of 2017, I ran in an event. It was about raising money to help those little fighters battling cancer. Currently, 75% of children who get cancer survive. That’s a good number, but doctors and scientist know that this number can be brought to 95%. But they need funding for research to get it there. That’s what the Children Cancer-free Foundation does.

It was a hot day that day. But my struggle to run 10 kilometer in the heat with an overweight. undertrained dad-bod is nothing compared to the fights these kids need to fight. They need help. Please find a fund near you to support, or maybe next time, join a KiKa-run.
