Summary

The website content is a personal Valentine's Day tribute from an American writer, D. Denise Dianaty, to her loved one, Hamid, featuring a newly composed poem, an artwork, and a reflection on their enduring love.

Abstract

For Valentine's Day 2024, D. Denise Dianaty, an American writer, has created an original poem and artwork for Hamid, her significant other. The poem, titled "Still…", is an expression of deep affection, reflecting on the transformation from despair to hope and the sustaining power of their love over time. Dianaty also describes the creative process behind an artwork that merges images of herself and Hamid, applying digital filters to achieve an oil painting and canvas texture effect, with a personal logo added to finish. She acknowledges terms used in the poem like "tenebrous" and "ineffable dolor" to convey dark times and profound loneliness before their love offered solace. The enduring nature of their affection is celebrated, and recognition is given to a support network of fellow writers called WE PAW Bloggers. The content concludes with a call for those who enjoyed the piece to support the author by purchasing a KoFi, underscoring the shared emotional journey of love and creation.

For Hamid — “Still…”

Valentine’s Day 2024

Every year, I create something original for Hamid on Valentine’s. Sometimes, I create artwork for him. Other times — more usually — I compose a new poem dedicated to him. This year, I’ve crafted another set of lines in his honor.

In this new poem, there are a couple of terms with which may be unfamiliar. As I’ve used it, “tenebrous” means shut off from the light, dark, or murky. I combined the phrase “ineffable dolor” to express an inexpressible sense of loneliness, of feeling bereft and adrift in the world. The word dolor means mental suffering or anguish.

PlaygroundAI rendering of two separate photos of Hamid and I layered together. I then applied an oil painting filter and a canvas texture filter in Adobe Photoshop, and added my personal logo.

Still…

Hope was far from reach True love a distant fantasy Lost in suffocating confusion Life had left me only dross

In the midst of tenebrous days Languishing in ineffable dolor The blaze of your laughter Kindled in my breast fragile hope

Your love came softly… gently… like a clear day shining brightly hope wrapped around my heartache and turned dross to gold

The years now have flown Yet our love remains unending Love sustains hope sustains love Unfailing, unflagging, still remaining

Your luminous ebony eyes bathe my heart in love’s radiance Your luminous smile still dazzles Setting my frail heart aflutter
